One of the main goals of Zephyr Farm is to promote sustainable and organic farming practices. The farm uses natural and organic methods to grow its crops and raise its animals, which helps to preserve the environment and promote healthy living. The farm also practices crop rotation, companion planting, and other sustainable farming methods to ensure that the land is well-cared for and productive for many years to come.

One of the unique features of Zephyr Farm is its commitment to locally-sourced products. The farm works closely with other local farmers and suppliers to provide customers with the freshest and highest-quality products possible. This not only supports the local economy but also ensures that customers are getting the best products available.

The farm also offers a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, which allows customers to subscribe to a regular delivery of fresh, seasonal produce. This program is a great way for customers to support the farm and get a regular supply of fresh, healthy food.

In addition to its commitment to sustainability and locally-sourced products, Zephyr Farm also offers a number of educational programs for the community. These programs include workshops, tours, and classes on a variety of topics related to sustainable farming, such as composting, permaculture, and sustainable living. The farm also welcomes visitors to come and learn more about sustainable farming practices and how to grow their own food.

Cons
  • One potential downside of Zephyr Farm is that their products may be more expensive than those found in supermarkets, due to the higher cost of organic farming methods. Additionally, their products may not be as readily available as those found in supermarkets, as they are only sold at the farm or at farmers' markets.
  • Another downside is that the farm's location may not be convenient for everyone. It is located in the countryside of northern California and may not be easily accessible for those who live in urban areas.

Note from owners
Bryan Allan and David Wills-Ehlers co-own and operate the farm. We both live here with our families, which include Bryan's son Oliver and David's daughter Anastasia, as well as some other friends and our pet cats and dogs. Bryan and David met at Zenger Farm in Southeast Portland and began farming together. Zenger Farm is a non-profit educational farm that has spent many years training the next generation of farmers and creating a more just food system, such as by partnering CSA farms with low-income health clinics.

Summary
Zephyr Farm is a great resource for anyone looking for high-quality, locally-sourced, and sustainably-grown products. The farm is dedicated to promoting sustainable and organic farming practices, and is committed to providing customers with the freshest and highest-quality products possible. Whether you're looking for fresh produce, meat, or dairy products, or you're interested in learning more about sustainable farming practices, Zephyr Farm is the perfect place to visit.
